When I got to work yesterday morning and sat down at my computer at 6:45 a.m., I wasn't expecting to have a contract waiting for me in my inbox. SQUEAL! And so started my whirlwind adventure. I'm writing this 24 hours in...I can only imagine what it will be like a month from now. Two months. Three months. Four months until my book is published!
After multiple texts, emails, and showing off my email to colleagues, I attempted to put in a good day's work (yeah, that didn't go so well). Once home, I started a new Facebook page and sent out a multitude of friend requests. Having not officially signed my contract, I didn't want to publicly announce anything, but told people I was starting an "author" page. (insert another SQUEAL).
Next on my list was to start a website. Or blog. Or something or other where I can get my name out. Hence this blog....that no one will read for sometime because I have to figure out how to make it public. And what the heck do I put on my webpage/blog? I don't have a book...yet. Or a cover...yet. Or really anything. But I can ramble and grin from ear to ear and prep myself for what's to come.
Thankfully I have amazing friends and the most supportive writers group. They can expect many questions in the near future. Don't worry, writer friends. I'll do my best to spread my annoying questions amongst you all :-)
